Not a plug for the SWBO

This website has mentioned the South West Baroque Orchestra before but they're worth another mention following their very successful concert last Saturday evening in Sherborne Abbey. The players were a happy mix of keen amateurs and professionals. A good sized audience was very appreciative of a series of baroque concerti which featured solo baroque oboe, pairs of violas and cellos, three and four violins. The acoustics of the Abbey are excellent for this type of music and the pew seats were well cushioned so I hope to be back in the audience again (if I'm not in the orchestra itself next time) if the SWBO make a return visit. (No more SWBO concerts this season - but look at their website for next season's plans and where you can also find out how to make contact if interested in joining them.
